Here’s the truth: not everyone is born with that many talents. Do you know what’s worse? The fact that there are also people with zero talent.

So ask me, how do they succeed?

Thing is, we cannot always equate success with talent. You can still live a life of greatness if you choose to strive and work consistently. We should understand that our successes don’t rely mainly on our technical skills, whether acquired or innate.

Many talented people fail when it comes to basic things like ethics, culture, class, or decision making. They don’t have it all! No one does. That’s an indication that life is still fair, and that you can still work your ass off to prove to people that you’ve got it in you.

So don’t fret. You still have a chance to score a good life.

Here are 6 things that you can do to succeed in life minus the talent:

Punctuality

Nobody wants a tardy employee.

Arriving late is disrespectful to most corporate offices.

Show up on time! Your presence means your commitment.

Effort

Sure, talent is great! But are they really hungry for it?

The level of effort you’re putting in a job or project is the best way to show your leader or employer that you want it. A hungry heart can never lie.

The point is, nothing good comes easy. So, if you’re really in it to win it, you must be willing to run the extra mile. The kind of effort you give is the message you’re trying to tell.

Ask yourself how much energy are you willing to spend in order to accomplish your goals.

Can you show up to work with your 100%? How committed are you?

Remember, consistency always trumps perfection! Hard work is what gets the job done.

Attitude

Nobody wants to work with people who reek of a bad attitude.

People with bad attitudes are difficult to deal with and often are the stressors of a workplace or organization.

Show up to work with a good aura. Greet your office mates. Talk politely.
We understand that life sometimes gets on our nerves, but we can’t always take the blame on the people around us.

Smile if necessary. Your warm and kind attitude will take you to whole new places!

Passion

How much do you love your work? Do you find meaning in it?

Passion is what fuels a person’s conviction. Without passion, you wouldn’t enjoy many things and will find them pointless. Yes, passion may flicker at times, or even die, but how much do you want something?

Can you imagine living your life without your passion?

Remember, passionate people, are full of love and dedication for their craft. They are those people whose eyes sparkle every single time they get to do the things that they want!

That kind of enthusiasm is what impresses employers. Be confident with your passion!

Being Coachable

A person who is coachable not only responds well when given feedback, they ask for feedback.

Not many people are open to criticism! But if you want to succeed in life, you must learn how to swallow your ego.

Successful people are those who have succeeded, failed, and learned at the same time. These people aren’t perfect, but they’re willing to learn from their previous downfalls, they understand both their strengths and weaknesses.

Coachable people accept critique and respond to it with a positive demeanor

Be ahead of the pack. Be bigger than your pride. Learn!
